You can eat the hotdog...
take time with family…
And still excel as a biz leader…
Turns out, there's a lot to learn about avoiding burnout as an executive from those priceless moments at the ballpark (in my case, Wrigley Field a short walk from my house!)
Picture this: I'm lounging in the stands, sipping on an Old Style, and munching on a hotdog, when suddenly, my kid starts chanting "Take me out to the board meeting, take me out to succeed! Ok… so that’s not how it goes.
It hit me like a foul ball to the face! Taking a breather from work, spending quality time with loved ones, and cheering for the home team can be a grand slam against burnout and make you a better leader when you are in the office (or on the road)!
Just like a baseball game - work requires strategy, teamwork, and a dash of humor. So, step up to the plate, relax, and enjoy the game of life! And remember, when things get tough, take a break, grab a hotdog, and slide into the stands for some family time!
I'm curious... how do you unwind with your family so you can refuel as an executive and be a better leader at work?
