I took my son down the street to the Reds/Cubs game on Saturday at Wrigley Field. It rained all day long but we were still hopeful.
You know how it is… You’re geared up, spirits high, then BAM – raindrops the size of baseballs. Do you panic? No! You grab a hot dog, cozy up under that oversized poncho, and brace for the unexpected.
Leading a team isn’t much different. You’re cruising along, hitting home runs, then – downpour! Strategies go awry, projects stall, and chaos threatens to ruin your winning streak. But do you throw in the towel? Never! You adapt, communicate, and keep morale high.
Remember, the game always resumes. The rain stops, and you’re back to cheering every play. Likewise, with patience and a sense of humor, team challenges turn into victories.
Luckily, we did stick it out, and my son got to see his first grand slam. (A late night – the game ended at almost 1am).
So next time life rains on your leadership parade, channel your inner baseball fan: Stay resilient, enjoy the hot dog, and wait for the skies to clear.
